Delicious bread

 


A diamond in the rough – Martins was established by
Firmino Martins in 1970, formerly known as “Steurhof café”,
a local Convenience store. The business successor, John
Martins followed in his father’s footsteps.  He decided to
continue his father’s legacy by opening a bakery division in
1983. John left his day job as manager of the Bank of Lisbon
to follow his passion and now works with his wife Teresa.

The European-style bakery brings to mind a contemporary
deli and coffee shop that is filled with the fresh aroma of
baked goods to entice the senses. Martins does was it does
best-bakes non-commercial, home made breads with
no preservatives and using traditional techniques such
as their Sourdough.
